by a pledge or mortgage or deed of trust of its
property, payable in such manner and at such
times as may be therein prescribed; but nothing
herein contained shall authorize said company to
issue bank notes, scrip or other device intended
for circulation as a currency.

Reservation.
|
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this act may
be altered, amended or repealed at the pleasure of
the Legislature of this State, and that the said act
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article four of
the Code of Public Local Laws for Baltimore
city, title, " Vagrants," for the purpose of ex-
tending to the Childrens' Aid Society the provi-
sions therein, relating to the Home of the Friend-
less.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the following section be added
to Article four of the Public Local Law for Balti-
more city, title, "Vagrants:"

Vested with
power.
|
The Judges of the Orphans' Court of Baltimore
city, the Judge of the Criminal Court, any Justice
of the Peace, the Trustees of the poor and the
Ward-managers of the poor and any Police officer
or Constable of said city, are hereby authorized and
empowered to deal with and commit to the Presi-
dent and Board of Managers of the Childrens' Aid
Society of Baltimore, any minor, whether male or
female, in the same manner and under the same
circumstances, as they are authorized to deal with
and commit female minors to the care and charge
of the Home of the Friendless, by the Public Local
Laws of the city of Baltimore, Article four titles
" Vagrants," section nine hundred and seven to
nine hundred and twenty-seven, both inclusive,
