CHAPTER 293.

8, 1864.

AN ACT to provide for the appointment of a
Visitor of the Alms House, under the charge of
the " Trustees of the Poor of Baltimore city,"
and to fix his salary.

appointed

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Baltimore county be and they are hereby author-
ized and required to appoint a Visitor of the Alms
House, now under the charge of the "Trustees of
the Poor of Baltimore city," which appointment
shall be made at their first meeting in March,
eighteen hundred and sixty-four, and at the same

time annually thereafter.

Duty of Visi-
tor.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the
duty of said Visitor to visit the aforesaid Alms
House at least once in each week, for the purpose
of superintending the condition of the Alms House
property and the paupers belonging to said county,
and boarded in the aforesaid institution, under a
contract made between the County Commissioners
of Baltimore county and the "Trustees of the
Poor of Baltimore city."

To have ac-
cess to book

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That for the purpose
of enabling said Visitors to perform the duties
prescribed by this act, he shall be allowed free
access to all the books and accounts of said institu-
tion which in anywise appertain to the property
and paupers aforesaid.

Salary.

Sec 4. And be it enacted, That said Visitor shall
be allowed a salary of one hundred and fifty dol-
lars per annum, payable quarterly, and that he
shall be allowed the sum of fifty dollars for like
services performed during the year eighteen hundred
and sixty-two and three, by and under the appoint-
ment of the County Commissioners aforesaid.

In force.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.
