CHAPTER 287.

Passed Mar.
8, 1864.

AN ACT to empower the County Commissioners of
Montgomery county to re-open and adjust the
claim of Elijah Thompson, for damages on road,
and to levy any additional sum of money that
they may think rightly due him for damages as
aforesaid.

Commission-
ers authorized.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the County Commissioners
of Montgomery county, be and they are hereby
authorized and empowered to re-open and adjust
the claims of Elijah Thomson, for damages on
road opened through his lands, on the petit-ion of
William A. Cooke and others, and to levy for his
use such additional sum of money as they may
deem a just and proper compensation for the dam-
age he has sustained.

In force.

Sec: 2. And be it enacted; That this act shall
take effect from and after its passage.

 

CHAPTER 288.

Passed Mar.
9, 1864.

AN ACT to repeal section ninety-nine of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Montgomery county,
relating to the keeping and boarding of prison-
ers, and substituting another section therefor

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section ninety-nine of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Montgomery county be
repealed, and the following section substituted
therefor :

Per diem.

99. He shall be entitled to forty cents a day for
keeping and boarding each prisoner committed to
the jail of said county.
