five dollars, and to pay to Robert Keene, owner of
the schooner Union Bell, the sum of fifty dollars,
and to pay to William Tod and George Rumbly,
owners of the schooner Constitution, twenty-five
dollars, for enforcing the oyster law, and to James
E. Robertson, Constable of Dorchester county,
sixty dollars for making certain arrests by order
of Governor Hicks.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to release from the payment of interest
the sureties on the official bond of Mason E.
McKnew, former Collector of Taxes for the first
collection district of Prince George's county in
the year eighteen hundred and fifty-eight.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sureties on the official bond
of Mason E. McKnew, Collector of State Taxes for
Prince George's county for the year eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-eight, be and they are hereby re-

leased from the payment of interest on said taxes ;
provided, that on or before the first day of Jan-
uary, eighteen hundred and sixty-five, the sureties
pay into the Treasury the amount of the principal
sum of said taxes as ascertained by the Comptroller
of the Treasury to be due the State.

Proviso.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
