CHAPTER 247.

10, 1864.

AN ACT to add an additional section, to Article
thirty, of the Code of Public General laws, re-
lating Crimes and Punishments.

Section added.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the following section be added
to Article thirty, of the Code of Public General
Laws, relating to Crimes and Punishments :

Penalty.

207. Any person or persons who shall enter
upon the land of any other person, a body corpor-
ate or politic, in this State, and shall wilfully and
maliciously injure or destroy or feloniously take
and carry away any growing tree, vine, plant,
shrubbery, root, vegetable, fruit or grain, or any
fencing, shall on conviction thereof in any of the
courts of the State having jurisdiction thereof, be
adjudged guilty of a misdemeanor, and be fined
not less than five dollars nor more than one hun-
dred dollars, or be imprisoned in the city or county
jail not less than one month nor more than six
months, or be both fined and imprisoned as afore-
said, in the discretion of the court; and that
this act shall apply only to Allegany, Frederick,
Prince George, Harford, Baltimore, Talbot, Caro-
line and Cecil counties.

AN ACT for the government of the Insane Asy-
lum, and to regulate admissions thereto.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Commissioners and Trus-
tees of the Insane Asylum at Spring Grove, shall
hereafter be known by the style and title of the
Directors of the Maryland Insane Asylum, and
may elect from their own number a President and
