sum of three hundred dollars, to be applied to the
repairing of Primary School House number three,
of Howard county.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 231.

 

AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of How-
ard county to lay out and create a new Primary
School District in said county.

Passed March
9, 1864.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Howard county be and they are hereby directed to
lay out and create a new Primary School District
in said county, within the following metes and
bounds: Beginning at a point on the Old Annap-
olis road, at or near the farm of James Shipley,
and thence running through the lands of the late
Major Charles Hammond to the county road lead-
ing by Bellows Spring church, down said road to
Elkhorn branch; thence down said branch to the
Brick church; thence along the road leading from
said church to a small branch on Larkin Brown's
farm; thence down said branch to the railroad ;
thence up the said railroad to Eliza Dorsey 's
switch; thence to the Washington turnpike at the
ten mile stone; thence running through Theodore
Tubman's and Baily's old farm and Carter's to
Horatio Perine's; thence through those lands to a
point on a county road, where a stone is planted
near Henry Otter's farm, including the same ;
thence in a straight line to the place of beginning;
the said County Commissioners are hereby em-
powered to alter or change the metes and bounds
of said Primary School District, if, in their judg-
ment, the public good require it.
