and valid devise.

AN ACT to amend section one hundred and
fifty-eight, Article six of Public Local Laws of Car-
oline county, entitled, "Roads."

Amended.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That section one hundred and
fifty eight of article six of the Code of Public
Local Laws, entitled, "Roads," be amended and
re-enacted so as to read as follows :

Rates of
compensation.

158. The rates of compensation for labor on the
public roads for Caroline county, shall be for eve-
ry able bodied hand the sum of one dollar per
day; for every cart and team, the sum of one dol-
lar and thirty cents per day.

In force.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted. That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 179.

AN ACT to repeal sections nine and ten of article
fifty-one of the Code of Public General Laws, re-
lating to the dockets of Justices of the Peace and
to re-enact the same with amendments.

Repealed.
