CHAPTER 176.

AN ACT to amend the sixth Article of Public
Local Laws, section two hundred -and one,
entitled, "An Act regulating Sheriff's fees, for
keeping prisoners in the county jail of Caroline
county, and finding them in food."

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section two hundred and one,
of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled an act
to regulate the fees of the Sheriff of Caroline
county, for keeping prisoners in the public jail of
said county and finding them in food, be amended
and regulated, so as to read as follows: the
Sheriff of Caroline county, shall be allowed, for
keeping prisoners in jail, and finding them in
food, not more than fifty cents per day, exclusive
of fire-wood.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to make valid a devise in the Will of
William Gardner, late of Baltimore City, de-
ceased.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, As follows :

Sec. 1. The leave of the Legislature is hereby
granted to the bequest contained in the last Will
and Testament of William Gardner, late of Balti-
more city, deceased, in the words "I give and
bequeath for the support of the Preacher of
Rev. M. Dunning's Church the sum of one hun-
dred dollars," and the Executors of said will and
