pense of the party or parties requiring the same ;
and the same, when so recorded, shall have the
same effect and operation in law, to all intents and
purposes, as if the records aforesaid, in which the
said papers were heretofore recorded, had never
been destroyed.

To take effect.
|
Sec. 24. And be it, enacted, That this act shall
take effect on the first day of March, eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-four, and the funds unappropriated
in the hands of the County Commissioners for Bal-
timore county, levied upon the county by the act
passed March, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, to
provide for the restoration of burnt records, shall
be applied to carry out the provisions of this act.

pers.

Sec. 25. And be it enacted, That it shall be the
duty of the Commissioner, after 'proper notice hav-
ing been given, to travel, if necessary, over the
county or State, at his own expanse, to collect pa-
pers to complete the said record.

AN ACT to refund to Stephen R. Gore, late Col-
lector of taxes for Carroll county, a sum of money
erroneously paid by him into the Treasury of
the State.
|
|
Authorized
to pay.
|
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is
hereby directed to issue his warrant upon the
Treasurer to pay to Stephen R. Gore, the sum of
eight hundred and twenty-four dollars and fifty-
|
|
Proviso.
|
five cents, it being the sum, erroneously paid by
him into the Treasury of the State; provided, the
Comptroller on the adjustment of the accounts of
said Gore, shall be satisfied that the said amount
has been erroneously paid by said Gore, or so
much as the Comptroller may be satisfied has been
erroneously paid as aforesaid.
