CHAPTER 8.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Franklin
Savings Bank of Frederick, and to increase their
capital stock.

Capital stock
increased.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Franklin Savings Bank of
Frederick, be and they are hereby authorized and
empowered to increase the capital stock of said
bank to an amount not exceeding two hundred
and fifty thousand dollars.

In force.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 9.

AN ACT to allow John Oram, former Sheriff and
Collector of Howard county, further time to
complete his collections.

Empowered
to collect.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That John Oram, former Sheriff of
Howard county, and Collector of State and county
taxes for the year eighteen hundred and fifty-
seven and the year eighteen hundred and fifty-
eight, for said county, be and he is hereby author-
ized and empowered to collect any taxes or balance
of taxes now remaining due to and uncollected by
him in the county aforesaid, in the same manner
and with the same power and privilege as are now
allowed to Collectors in said county.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said John
Oram, former Sheriff of Howard county, be and he
is hereby allowed to collect fill fees, fines and for-
feitures, and balances of fees, fines and forfeitures
now due and uncollected by him, and he is hereby
authorized and empowered to collect the same in
the manner provided by existing laws, for the
