CHAPTER 110.

 

AN ACT entitled, An act to amend the one hun-
dred and seventieth section of the fourteenth
Article of the Code of Public Local Laws in Kent
county, in relation to the election of Trustees in
primary school districts number seven, number
eight and number nine in the Fourth Election
District of said county; to repeal the one hun-
dred and seventy-fourth section of said Article,
so far as the same relates to the said three school
districts, and to amend the same by a new sec-
tion regulating the election of Trustees for said
three districts; to amend the one hundred and
eightieth section of said Article by enlarging
the powers of the Trustees, and to add two new
sections, giving to the Trustees power to sell
and convey a part or the whole of the lot and
buildings belonging to said three school dis-
tricts.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the one hundred and seven-
tieth section of the fourteenth Article of the Code
of Public Local Laws, under the title, "Kent coun-
ty," and sub-title "Schools," be so amended in
relation to the selection of Trustees for primary
schools, that in school districts number seven,
number eight and number nine, in the Fourth
Election District of Kent county, and which com-
prehends Chestertown and 'the adjacent territory
within the limits of said three school districts, the
white male taxable inhabitants residing in said
districts, as provided for in said section, shall elect
five Trustees, who shall manage the affairs and
business of the said three several school districts,
instead of the fifteen Trustees usually elected, and
shall have and exercise all the rights and powers,
and perform all the duties that the three Boards of
Trustees have heretofore performed, but who shall
be constituted Trustees for each district.

Amended.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the one hundred
