AN ACT to release from payment of interest the
sureties on the official bond of Joshua Macauly,
Collector of State Taxes for Howard county, in
the years of eighteen hundred and fifty-five and
eighteen hundred and fifty-six.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sureties on the official bond
of Joshua Macauly, Collector of State taxes for
Howard county, for the years of eighteen hundred
and fifty-five and eighteen hundred and fifty-six,
be and they are hereby released from the payment
|
Proviso.

of interest on said taxes; provided, that on or he-
fore the first clay of June, eighteen hundred and
sixty-four, the sureties pay into the Treasury the
amount of the principal sum of said State taxes,
as ascertained by the Comptroller of the Treasury
to be due the State.
