Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That in the event of
the failure or refusal of any person so convicted to
pay such fine, the Justice of the Peace imposing
such fine shall commit him to the jail of Allegany
county for not less than thirty nor more than sixty
days.

AN A CT to repeal section one hundred and ninety-
one of Article first, Code of Public Local Laws,
relating to witnesses in Allegany county, and
to re-enact the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section one hundred and ninety-
one of Article first, in the Code of Public Local
Laws, be and the same is hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That witnesses in Alle-
gany county, who shall reside more than five miles
from the place of holding the Circuit Court, shall
in addition to the per diem allowed by law, reeivec
eight cents for every mile exceeding the first five,
to be allowed in going to the court; but no wit-
ness shall be allowed mileage for more than once
going to said court at any one term.
