shall fix the term of office, amount of bond and
compensation of such Collector.

Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
missioners, or a majority of them, shall have foil
power and authority, annually, to appoint a bailiff,
whose duty it shall be to preserve the peace and
good order of said town, and for this purpose he is
hereby vested with the same power and authority
as any Constable may now have under the laws of
this State.

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That nothing herein
contained shall be so construed as to authorize the
corporation hereby created to issue any device,
token, note, certificate or evidence of debt, to be
used as a currency, and the Legislature reserves
the right to amend or repeal this charter, when
the same shall be deemed advisable.

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That all acts, or
parts of acts, inconsistent with the provisions of
this act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

A BILL to refund to Benjamin Fawcett a sum of
money erroneously paid into the Treasury.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer, on the warrant
of the Comptroller, pay to Benjamin Fawcett, late
Collector of Montgomery county, the sum of twelve
dollars and fifty-seven cents, erroneously paid by
him into the Treasury of the State.
