authorized to give, and may extend the said rail-
way and any of its branches into the city of Bal-
timore, with the consent of the Mayor and City
Council thereof.

Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That the rate of fare
for passengers on said road shall not exceed five
cents per mile, for any full mile, but the same
fere may be charged for parts of a mile, as for a
whole mile.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That every street,
avenue or road previously made, over which said
railway may be carried, shall be kept in order by
said company, the space occupied by the rails and
two feet Beyond on each side, that the ties shall
be covered, and the rails be laid even with the
surface of the ground, and that on all roads opened
or widened by said company, there shall be side-
walks, whenever the ground will admit of it, ex-
cept over bridges and culverts, not less than ten
feet in width, which shall be planted by said com-
pany with double rows of trees on each side.

Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That the President
and Directors' of said company may borrow from
time to time, for the corporate purposes of said
company, such amount as they may deem proper,
not exceeding the sum of fifty thousand dollars,
and provide for the payment of the same and the
interest by mortgage or otherwise, and may issue
bonds for the same, and provide for the payment
of principal and interest to the holder thereof, in
such manner as they may deem proper, at the
time of issuing said bonds, and may issue certifi-
cates of stock in said company, and provide for
the payment of dividends to the holder thereof in
such manner as they may deem proper at the time
of issuing.

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That said company
shall commence said: road within one year, and
complete the same within three years, or this act
shall be null and void.

take effect from its passage, and may be altered,
amended or repealed by the General Assembly at
any time at its pleasure.
