RESOLUTIONS.

would be highly destructive of the tobacco inter-
est of the State;

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That our Senators and Representatives in Con-
gress be respectfully requested to use their utmost
endeavors to prevent the passage of such a law.

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be
sent to each of our Senators and Representatives
in Congrees.

Resdlved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all committees, whose duties require their
absence from the daily sessions of the Senate and
House of Delegates, be allowed by the committee
on Claims, their regular per diem and actual
traveling expenses, but no extra per diem or
mileage.

March 6, 1865.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the State Librarian be and he is hereby au-
thorized and directed to subscribe in the name of
the State, for two hundred copies of a collection of
English Statutes, which existed at the time of the
first emigration of the people of Maryland, and
which by experience have been found applicable
to their local and circsmstances, and of such
others as have since been made in England or
Great Britain, and have been introduced, uesd
and practised by the courts of law or equity, and
which were therefore proper to be incorporated
