LAWS OF MARYLAND.

President and Directors may from time to time ap-
point ; and all meetings of the said President and
Directors of said company may also be held at
either of the above named places, which the Presi-
dent of said company may from time to time ap-
point ; and in all meetings of the stockholders of
said company, any number of them representing
a majority of the capital stock subscribed, and in
all meetings of the President and Directors of
said company, a majority of said President and
Directors shall constitute a quorum for the trans-
action of business.

Invested
with powers.

Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That for the purpose
of enabling said company to transport the products
of their mines, wells, and other property to
market, the said corporation shall be and is hereby
invested with all and singular the rights, profits,
powers, authorities, immunities and advantages,
tor surveying locations and constructing railroads
and tram roads, with the necessary appurtenances
from their mines, wells or works, to any convenient
point or points with other existing railroads in
Allegany county, and for the making, construct-
ing, preserving and controlling the said railroad
or roads, tram road or tram roads, and the ne-
cessary vehicles and appurtenances thereto be-
longing, and every part thereof which by the act,
and more particularly the fifteenth section thereof,
incorporating the "Baltimore and Ohio Railroad
Company," and its several supplements, were for
the lawful purposes of said company, and the ben-
efits of its corporators, given, granted, authorized
and secured to the said company, and to the Presi-
dent and Directors thereof respectively, as fully

and perfectly as if the same were herein repeated;
provided, that no private property shall be taken
for the use of said company, without just compen-
sation as agreed upon between the parties, or
awarded by a jury, is first paid or tendered to the
party entitled to such compensation, and the said,
corporation shall transport on its railroad or roads,
which may be constructed under the provisions of
this act, and also on any railroad or tram road
which it may own, as hereinbefore authorized, all
persons and property at the same rates of tolls
and prices of transportation as the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad' Company are, or shall be by law
allowed to charge and receive.
