AN ACT to Appropriate a sum of money sufficient
to procure a full length portrait of the also
Governor Thomas Holliday Hicks, to & placed
in the Executive Chamber of Maryland, and a
further sum to erect a monument over the re-
mains whenever he may be finally interred.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That five thousand dollars, or so
much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appro-
priated to procure a full length portrait of the late
Governor Thomas Holliday Hicks, and to same
when completed to be placed in the Executive
Chamber, and that the unexpended gum of five
thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be
necessary, shall be used and expended in buildling
or erecting a suitable monument over the remains
when finally interred.

Treasurer to
pay.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That tive Treasurer
shall, upon a warrant of the Comptroller, pay to
the order of the Chairman of the committee here-
inafter reamed, the above sum, or so much thereof
as may be found necessary to fully carry into
effect the provisions of this act.

Committee
appointed.
|
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That a committee of
three be appointed by the Governor to carry into
effect the provisions of this act.
