CHAPTER 139.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum. of money for the
relief of the Maryland Hospital.
|

24, 1865.

WHEREAS, It is reported to this G-eneral As-
sembly that it has become necessary to introduce
a more efficient heating apparatus into the Mary-
land Hospital, in order to heat the same more ef-
fectively, and to guard against the probabilities
of fire; and whereas, many repairs and improve-
ments of the buildings, and also certain improve-
ments of the grounds, and of an extensive portion
of the fences have become indispensable; there-
fore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum of fifteen thousand
dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated,
to be paid to the President and visitors of the
Maryland Hospital, to introduce an efficient heat-
ing apparatus, and to effect proper and necessary
repairs of the buildings and improvements of the
grounds, and for other purposes.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Comptrol-
ler of the Treasury, be and he is hereby required
to draw his warrant upon- the Treasurer, in favor
of the said the President and Visitors of the
Maryland Hospital, for the said sum of fifteen
thousand dollars.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
