the State of one tenth part of the sum so allowed,
and where a legacy is left to an executor by way
of compensation, such legacy shall be reckoned in
the commissions fixed by the court.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage, but nothing
herein contained shall be construed to impose the
tax upon commissions already fixed of any ixecu-
tor or administrator to whom letters shall have
been issued before the passage hereof.

AN ACT to exempt the inhabitants of Caroline
county from tolls for the use and crossing of
Dover Bridge, across the Choptank river, and to
require the County Commissioners of Caroline
county to pay annually a sum of money to keep
the said bridge in repair.

Preamble
|
WHEREAS, the General Assembly of Maryland
at the January session, in the year eighteen hun-
dred and sixty, passed an act authorizing the
County Commissioners of Talbot and Caroline
counties to subscribe the sum of five thousand
dollars in each county to build a bridge of the
Choptank river at "Dover Ferry" now called "Do-
ver Bridge;" and whereas, the County Commission-
ers of Caroline county have subscribed and paid
the sum of five thousand dollars for said county;
and whereas, the General Assembly failed to enact
that in the event either county should pay the
said sum of five thousand dollars, then the citizens
of said county should- pass over said bridge free
from the payment of toll; therefore,

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the inhabitants of Caroline
county shall have the privilege of passing over
said "Dover Bridge" with their vehicles, carriages,
