LAWS OF MARYLAND.

List — when
furnished.

SEC. 8. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the list of names required to be
furnished by the Clerk of the County Commission-
ers in section two of this act, shall be furnished on
the first Monday of March, eighteen hundred and
sixty-five, for the first drawing of Jurors under
this act, and from said list of one hundred and
fifty names, and draw therefrom the names of
forty-eight persons to serve as Jurors for the April
term ensuing, in the manner hereinbefore describ-
ed, and all subsequent drawings shall be as before
provided by this act.

In force.

SEC. 9. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.

 

CHAPTER 12.

Passed Feb.
23, 1865.

AN ACT to amend the fifth section of the ninety-
seventh Article of the Code of Public General
Laws of this State entitled, "State Wharfinger
and Wharves."

Amended and
re-enacted.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the fifth section of the ninety-
seventh Article of the Public General Laws of this
State be amended and re-enacted as follows :

Powers and
duties of.

He shall be vested with the same powers in re-
gard to the care of said Wharves or such part
thereof as may be under his care and direction and
the regulating of vessels and persons resorting to
and using them, as any Harbor Master or other
officer within the city of Baltimore; and any of said
persons who shall refuse or neglect to obey his
orders, given in the execution of his said powers,
shall pay and forfeit to this State the same fine
that in the like case a person who should refuse or
neglect to obey the orders of any Harbor Master
within the said city, would by virtue of the ordi-
nances of the city of Baltimore, pay and forfeit to the
said city. He shall also be vested with the same
