CHAPTER 71.

 

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel county to allow the Sheriff of
said county additional compensation for board-
ing prisoners.

Passed March
22, 1865.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Anne' Arundel county be and they are hereby
authorized and directed to allow the Sheriff of
said county such additional compensation for th'e
board of prisoner's committed to the jail of said
county, frorn the sixteenth day of March, eighteen
hundred and sixty-four to the first' day of Novem-
ber, eightee'n hundred and sixty-four, as in their
judgment they may deem advisable.

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 72.

 

AN ACT to incorporate the Baltimore and Her-
ring Run Passenger Railway Company.

Passed March
20, 1865.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Jacob J. Bankard, Jacob W.
Hugg, Samuel M. Evans, John L. Thomas, Jr.
and Thomas Booz, be and they are hereby ap-
pointed Commissioners to take subscriptions to
the capital stock of the Baltimore and Herring
Run Passenger Railway Company, hereby incorpo-
rated and they or a majority of them may cause
books to be opened at such times and places, and
for such period or. periods and upon such notice of
such times, places and periods as they may deem
expedient, and may re-open the same from time
to time for the purpose of receiving subscriptions
to said capital, stock, and, if any of the above
named Commissioners shall die, resign or refuse
