CHAPTER 72.

CHAP. 73.

AN ACT to make valid the qualification of Tench
Tilghman, as Major General of the second Divi-
sion of Maryland Militia.

Passed June
20, 1861.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the qualification of Tench Tilgh-
man, as Major General of the second Division of
Maryland Militia, be and the same is hereby legal-
ized, and declared, as valid and effective, as if he
had taken the oath of office, and qualified within
the time required by the tenth section of the sixty-
eight Article of the Code of Public General Laws,
and the Acts of said Tench Tilghman, as Major
General of said Division, are hereby declared to be
legal and valid.

Legalized.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 73.

 

AN ACT to amend the fifty-seventh Article of the
Code of Public General Laws, by repealing the
first section thereof, and re-enacting the same
with an alteration touching the limitation of cer-
tain actions for wrongs affecting the personal
rights of the citizen.

21, 1861.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section one of Article fifty-
seventh of the Code of Public General Laws be and
the same is hereby repealed, and the following sec-
tion substituted therefor:

Repealed.

SECTION 1, All actions of account, actions of as-
sumpsit, or on the case, actions of debt on simple
contract, or for rent in arrear, detinue or replevin,
all actions for trespass, for injuries to real or per-
sonal property, all actions for illegal arrest, false
imprisonment, or violation of the twenty-first, twen-
