SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer of
the State shall, upon the warrant of the Comptrol-
ler of the Treasury Department, disburse the said
sums of money herein appropriated, for the objects
and purposes specified, to or upon the order of the
person or persons severally entitled thereto.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage,.

AH ACT to explain Article thirty-eight, section
twenty-five of the Maryland Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, relating to fees of officers.
|
Construction.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, As the true construction of the twen-
ty-fifth section of Article thirty-eight of the Mary-
land Code of Public General Laws, that Notaries
Public, residing in any of the counties of this
State, shall be required to account for and pay to
the Treasurer of this State, only one-half of the
surplus over and above the sum of two hundred
and fifty dollars, received by any such Notary as
fees on protests within any one year.
