CHAPTER 53.

AN ACT to amend the eighty-eighth Article of
the Code of Public General Laws, by repealing
the forty-sixth and forty-seventh Sections thereof,
and substituting the following therefor, in rela-
tion to Sheriffs.
|
Repealed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the forty-sixth and forty-seventh
sections of the eighty-eighth Article of the Code of
Public General Laws, be and the same are hereby
repealed, so far as relates to the city of Baltimore.
|
Sheriff to
collect.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Sheriff shall
collect the fees due to the following officers which
may be placed in his hands for collection, namely:
Attorneys, Clerks of all the Courts, Commissioner
of the Land office, Coroners, Criers, Registers of
Wills, Surveyors and Sheriffs.

Proviso.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the Sheriff may
distrain or execute the goods and chattels against
whom any fees are placed in his hands for collec-
tion; provided, he has sixty days previously de-
livered to such person, or left at his place of abode
an account of such fees.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

AN ACT to make valid the last will and testament
of a certain John Hanna, late of the State of
Pennsylvania, deceased.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, a certain John Hanna, late of the
State of Pennsylvania, deceased, did by his last will
and testament devise certain real estate, situated in
Cecil county, Maryland, unto his son Benjamin
