10 BALTIMORE TOWN
No branch of trade in, our city has so rapidly increased as
the tobacco trade, principally from the west by the Ohio and
Susquehaana Rail Road, and tide Water Canal. A large
warehouse was added last year and now a much larger one
is feeing erected on Charles street, south of Pratt; in the
meantime, nearly every warehouse and shed suitable for
storing it, Has more or less tobacco in it.
Our march is onward, steadily and surely. Who will say
what a city ours is destined to be, and where can the next
hundred years place our limits ?
