GARNET CRUMMEL WILKINSON

Born in Summerville, S. C., January
10, 1879. Came to Washington in 1888.

EDUCATION

Public Schools of District of Columbia.

Was graduated from M Street High
School in 1898.

Entered Oberlin College in the fall of
1898 and was graduated therefrom, with
the degree of A. B., in 1902.

Entered the School of Law, Howard
University in 1907 and was graduated
therefrom with the degree of LL, in 1909.

Periodically a student of education in
the summer sessions of the Schools of
Education at Oberlin College, Chicago
University, and U. of P.

EXPERIENCE

Appointed as teacher of Latin and
History in the M Street High School in
September, 1902.

Served as teacher for ten years.

Promoted to principalship of Arm-
strong Manual Training School in 1912.

Promoted to the principalship of Dun-
bar High School in 1916.

Promoted to the rank of Assistant
Superintendent in Charge of Colored
Schools in 1921.

Promoted to the rank of First Assist-
ant Superintendent in Charge of Colored
Schools in 1924.
