CHARLES F. WOODLAND

Charles F. Woodland, one of the most prominent men of our
race. He has been connected with all enterprises that help to up-
lift our people for the last twenty-five years. He assisted to organize
Provident Hospital, was appointed by Governor as a member of the
Colored Division of the Maryland Council of Defense, President for
seventeen succeeding: years of St. Andrew's Male Beneficial Society,
the most prosperous beneficial order in the State of Maryland and
also President of Associated Friends of Colored Orphans, Chase Street
and Brentwood Avenue, who has ust completed a campaign for ten
thousand dollars.
