DR. DAVID NEWTON E. CAMPBELL
Lung and Nerve Specialist

David Newton E. Campbell, B. S,, M. D., M. O., was born in
Jamaica, British West Indies, January 24, 1871. He attended the
public schools, entered by competitive examination the College Depart-
ment of the Calabar Institution and graduate 1890. He became second
master few months at the Retirement Moravian School, then first
master for nearly 3 years at the Springfield Government School.
In America he studied medicine at the University of Vermont. Bur-
lington. Shaw University for two terms, graduating; from the former
:is Doctor of Medicine, 1897. Passed the Maryland Medical Exam-
ining Board in high honors, studied tropical diseases in the hospitals
of Santiago de Cuba and Panama. Recently he took a special course
in the Philadelphia Optical College and received the degree of Master
of Optometry. He is author of several books, "Searchlight On the
Panama. Canal," "The X-Ray Of Life," "Love and Retribution," "Suc-
cess and Triumph," "The New Idea On Tuberculosis." and several
pamphlets. He is Secretary of the International Uplift League.

JUDGE E. M. HEWLETT

Judge E. M. Hewlett, one of the
ablest lawyers the race has produced,
is the son of the late Professor A.
Molyneaux Hewlett, who was Profes-
sor of Physical Training at Harvard
University from 1852 until his death
in 1872.

Judge Hewlett is a graduate of
Boston University, and has practiced
law in Boston and Washington since
1877. In 1890 he was appointed by
President Benjamin Harrison a Judge
in the District of Columbia, of what
is now the Municipal Court, and was
reappointed by Presidents Cleveland,
McKinley and Roosevelt, serving six-
teen years.
