CLARKE L. SMITH.

Lawyer Clarke L. Smith practices in all the courts and gives es-
pecial attention to real estate matters. He is a member of St.
James P. E. Church; president of the Profit-sharing Building and
Loan Association of Baltimore, Maryland; member of the Executive
Committee of the National Association for the Advancement of Col-
ored People; member of the Legal Redress and Legislative Commit-
tee, N. A. A. C. P.; member of Thomas W. Stringer Lodge Knights
of Pythias, and is connected with various other movements for the
social and economic interests of the race.

He took the State Bar Examination in November, 1914. There
were about 160 members in his class, out of which 68 passed, Mr.
Smith being one of the successful candidates for admission, making
a high mark in his examination
