ests tending towards the uplift of his race
In this city, particularly those of the Y.
M. C. A., Provident Hospital and the
Alumni Association of the Colored High
School. He is an active member of Mad-
ison St. Presbyterian Church.

S. S. Booker. Secretary of the Colored
Men's Branch of the Y. M. C. A. of Balti-
more, Md. He Is a graduate of Virginia
Union University, college class of 1910.
While In college he was a member of the
debating team, football team, track team
and he was active in every phase of out-
door life. He has been connected with
the city work of the Y. M. C A. for six
years, serving first at Chattanooga, Term.,
and then at Indianapolis where he served
its educational secretary in the new $100,-
609 building. Mr Booker is a member of
