REV. P. C. NEALE

The Rev. P. C. Neal, D. D., is one of Maryland's representative men.
The son of the late Spicer G. and Emma P. Neal, he attended the pub-
lic schools of the city and grammar school on East Saratoga Street; a
graduate of the Normal and Theological Departments of Wayland Sem-
inary, Washington, D. C.; an alumnus of the College Department of
Lincoln University, Pa.; studied Theology ID the Theological Department
of Hamilton Theological Seminary, Hamilton, N. Y. Rev. Dr. Neal mar-
ried his class-mates Miss Harriet Wimblah, who has proven an Invaluable
assistant and is ever at his side to encourage him In whatever work
he Is engaged. Dr. Neal is the organizer and First President of the
Colored Y. M. C. A.: pastor of the First Baptist Church; a member
of the National Baptist Convention; trustee of Cayton Williams Acad-
my; trustee of the Colored Baptist Orphanage; president of the Co-
operative Baptist State Convention; vice-president of East Baltimore
Improvement Association, and is connectpd with a number of the benevo-
lent civic organizations of the city and state. Dr. Neal lends his voice,
pen And means to every good work for the amelioration of the people.
Dr. Neal Is an eloquent speaker and is often in demand for addresses on
public occasions.

The First Baptist Church under his administration is in a prosperous
condition; It has recently been remodeled and renovated, and is one of
the most attractive churches In the city, with a membership of over one
thousand members and is without financial encumbrances. Dr. Neal
is the organiser and president of the First Baptist Relief Association,
an institution for the relief of the sick, which paid out thousands of
dollars for death claims, with a bank account of nearly 12,000.
