REV ALBERT J MITCHELL.

Rev. Albert J. Mltchell, the pastor of Ames Memorial Metbodlat
Episcopal Church, Carey and Baiter streets. Is a product of the public
schools of Florida and New York City, and to an honor graduate from
Gammon Theological Seminary. Atlanta, Oa.. class of 1908. Prior to
his entrance Into the Ministry be waa actively Identified with the wort
of St. Mark's Methodist Episcopal Church, New York City, serving as
President of the Epworth League for many years, and was the organ-
iser and teacher of the largest colored Bible Class in the City of New
York. His work In this representative Church of Methodism, and the
several rural appointments In Virginia and Maryland which he served,
gives him peculiar fitness for the responsibilities which he assumes as
pastor of this Important charge. He has impressed himself upon the
community as being a strong and resourceful leader, broad-minded and
sympathetic in his makeup, and be is deeply Interested in social re-
forms. A special feature of work Initiated under his leadership at
Ames is the Children's Chnrch. which meets every Friday at 4.30 P. M.
He has been a very successful pastor.
