REV. P. W. WOBTHAM, D. D.

Rev. P. W. Wortham, D. D., was born in Warrenton, Warren County,
N. C., and was educated in the schools of North Carolina and Virginia.
After returning from educated be was made principal of the Public School
of Warrenton, which position he held for nine years. He was licensed
to preach in May, 1887, the same year the M. E Conference met at his
home church, and be was received in the conference, and by request of
the congregation was made pastor of his home church, which pastorate
be held for four years, which was then the full time a pastor was
allowed to remain. He has very successfully pastored the following
charges: Roxboro, Burlington and Morganton. Was transferred to ibe
Baltimore Annual Conference by Bishop James A. Handy, D. D., and

stationed at St Paul A. M. E. Church, Washington, D. C.; from there
to Cumberland, Md.; Annapolis, Md; Payne Memorial, Baltimore, Md.;

served as P. E. of the Baltimore District. His present charge in St.
John's A. M. E. Cburch, Baltimore, Md.
