The risque of loss by fire, robbery, theft, and other unavoida
ble occurrences, is in all cases to be borne by the owner of the
goods: provided, usual care be taken for the security of the pro
perty.
FOREIGN STEAM PACKETS.
BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES AND ENGLAND.
Cunard's Line from Liverpool to Boston, leaves each port twice every month.
Steam Navigation Company's -Line, from Liverpool, London and Bristol,
New York.
Lack of the above lines carry a Mail, but Canard's is free to Liverpool, except
the inlaid postage from the place of depoaite to Boston must be paid. The rates
postage from New York are as follow—Government postmasters of the place who
letters are deposited, are authorised to receive: for single letters 25 cents; double letter
60 cents; triple letters, 7o cents; quadruple letters, 81; package of letters, per oz.
newspapers, each 2 rents; magazines, pamphlets, &c. per sheet, 2 cents.
For Postage on Letters out of the United Kingdom and France, where a foreign
inland has to be paid by the company, $1 per sheet most be paid; and in proportion
all others as above
