President of the Colored Business Men's Exchange.

One of the best things in business is to give a square deal to all and study
your business every day. Every customer likes a pleasant word; every business
man tries to improve his business once a year at least.

A successful business man is valuable in the community in which he lives;

young men learn a trade, for there will be a day that you will need it to make
you a valuable man.

Only about 25 per cent, of the men who go into business are successful.
