CHAPTER 368.

AN ACT to repeal Section 11 of Article 25 of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws of Maryland, title "County Commissioners,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 11 of Article 25 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, title "County Commissioners," be and
the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as
follows:

11. They shall make out and publish annually in at least
two newspapers published in their respective counties, except
Howard county, where the County Commissioners may publish
the same in one newspaper, if there be two, a detailed, minute
and accurate statement of the expenses of their said counties,
specifying therein each particular item of expense, and for
what and to whom paid, and shall also deliver to the sheriff
of their respective counties as many copies of such statement
as there are election districts in the county, at least ten days
before each general election; and the sheriff shall within six
days after the receipt of such copies set up one of them at the
place of holding elections in each election district; and the
clerk to the County Commissioners and the sheriff who shall
fail to perform the duty imposed by this section shall each
forfeit the sum of one hundred dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 683.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Crimes and Pun-
ishments," subtitle "Desertion of Wife or Child," said new
section to immediately follow Section 70, and to be known as
Section 70A of said Article.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and is hereby added to Article 27
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Crimes
and Punishments," subtitle "Desertion of Wife or Child," said
new section to immediately follow Section 70, to be known as
Section 70A, and to read as follows:
