lected, as hereinafter provided, for the payment of the interest
and principal of said bonds shall likewise be kept as a separate
fund by said officer.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That "The Commissioners of
Cambridge" are hereby authorized, empowered and required to
levy annually upon the assessable property of the town of Cam-
bridge a tax sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds by
them to be issued in pursuance of this Act, and are also author-
ized, empowered and required to levy annually upon the as-
sessable property of said town a tax sufficient to pay the prin-
cipal of said bonds, as they respectively mature and fall due.
The tax hereby authorized is for the special purpose herein
stated, and is in addition to the tax levied for general pur-
poses as authorized by the charter of the town of Cambridge
aforesaid.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the work of grading, pav
ing, curbing,, draining or otherwise improving the streets and
roadways of the said town of Cambridge as herein provided,
shall be done by "The Commissioners of Cambridge," through
the agency of a commission, to be known as the Cambridge
Street Improvement Commission, the members of which shall
serve without pay, and shall be composed of five members all
citizens of the town of Cambridge appointed in the following
manner, to wit: The Chief Judge of the First Judicial Circuit
of Maryland, the Mayor of Cambridge and the President of the
Board of Trade of Cambridge, shall be and they are hereby ap-
pointed and constituted "The Board of Appointment of the
Street Improvement Commission," and as soon as convenient
after the passage of this Act shall meet and appoint five dis-
creet men, citizens and tax payers of the Town of Cambridge
to act as said "The Cambridge Street Improvement Commis-
sion," of which commission the Mayor of Cambridge shall be
ex offico a member, with equal rights, authority and responsi-
bility of the other four members of said commission and in
case of a vacancy or vacancies in said commission, caused by
death, resignation, removal from Cambridge, refusal to serve,
or otherwise, such vacancy or vacancies shall be filled by an
appointment or appointments to be made by the aforesaid The
Board of Appointment of the Street Improvement Commission
or a majority of them.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the said commission after
their appointment shall organize by electing from among its
members its own chairman and its own secretary and shall
have full power and authority to determine by a majority vote
all questions connected with the improvements of the streets
and highways aforesaid; after the work on the streets herein-
