not less than fifty dollars, or more than one hundred dollars
for each and every such offence, and shall stand committed
until such fine and costs are paid.
SEC. 2. And le it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 525.
AN ACT to add a sub-section to Section 203 of Article 10 of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester County,"
sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables," to follow
the said Section 203 and to be designated 203A.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a sub-section be and hereby is added to Section 203
of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Dor-
chester County," sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Consta-
bles," to follow the said Section 203 and to be designated 203A,
and to read as follows:
203A. That in every criminal case brought before any Jus-
tice of the Peace for Dorchester county, wherein the defendant
is found guilty, upon confession or trial, and is fined, it shall
be the duty of the Justice of the Peace to collect the fine at
once, and on the first Monday of every month to make out a
list of all the cases in which a fine was imposed, and in said
list he shall give the date of each fine, and he shall credit him-
self with every fine which the defendant refused or failed to
pay, and was thereupon ordered to stand committed till fine
and costs were paid; and whenever required by the Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Dorchester county any such Justice of
the Peace shall produce before said Clerk his Criminal Docket;
such Justice of the Peace shall on the first Monday of every
month, as aforesaid, pay to the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Dorchester County the amount of the fines which he has col-
lected to said date and has not before paid over to the Clerk;
and if the said Justice of the Peace refuses or fails to pay over
to the Clerk the amount of such fines or any part of the fines
collected by him, for one month after he is herein required to
pay the same over, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and,
on conviction thereof, he shall be sentenced to be confined in
the county jail for not more than six months and pay a fine
equal to the amount of the money collected by him and not
paid over. One-half of all fines received by the Clerk, as afore-
said, shall be paid without delay to the Board of County School
