816 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 583.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 207, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, 213,
Sub-Section B 216, 217, 218 and 219 of Article 10 of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester County," sub-
title "Liquor and Intoxicating," and to re-enact the same
with amendments, and repealing all laws inconsistent there-
with.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 207, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, Sub-Sec-
tion B 216, 217, 218 and 219 of Article 10 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Dorchester County," sub-title "Liquor and
Intoxicating Drinks," be and the same are hereby repealed and
re-enacted to read as follows:

207. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or
corporation, directly or indirectly, to sell or otherwise dispose
of by way of barter within the limits of Dorchester county, any
spirituous, vinous, malt, fermented or other intoxicating
liquors or fermented wine or cider of any kind, medicated bit-
ters or any compound of which alcohol is the chief or a princi-
pal ingredient; and it shall also be unlawful for any person or
persons, firm or corporation within the limits of said Dorches-
ter county to take orders for any such liquors, medicated bit-
ters or alcoholic compound at any time, under any pretence, in
any manner or for any purpose whatever, and if any person or
persons, firm or corporation within the limits of Dorchester
county shall directly or indirectly sell or otherwise dispose of
by way of barter any such liquors, medicated bitters or alco-
holic compounds or cider or fermented wine, or shall therein
take any order or orders therefor, then such person or persons,
members of such firm, and the directors, trustees or managers
of such corporation shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and on
conviction thereof in the Circuit Court for Dorchester county,
or before any justice of the peace thereof, shall for every of-
fense be confined in the Maryland House of Correction not less
than six months nor more than two years, but if any such
liquors, medicated bitters or alcoholic compound or cider or
wine be sold on Sunday or to any minor, the party or parties
so offending, on conviction as aforesaid, shall for every offense
be confined in the Maryland House of Correction for not less
than eight months. In any indictment, warrant or other charge
the members of the firm shall be designated as in civil suits,
and in the case of a corporation the directors, trustees or man-
agers of such corporation; and in no case against the members
of any firm, or against the directors, trustees or managers of
any corporation shall the proceedings abate, be quashed or set
aside under demurrer, because less than the whole number of
