Treasurer of Dorchester County and Clerk, shall account with
the Comptroller of the Treasury, and pay unto the Treasurer
of the State, the State taxes levied by the County Commission-
ers in the year nineteen hundred and eight, less allowances for
insolvents and removals and on the first Tuesday in April, in
the year nineteen hundred and eleven the said W. Hamilton
Spedden, Treasurer of Dorchester County and Clerk, shall ac-
count with the said Comptroller for, and pay to the Treasurer
of the State, the State taxes, levied by the County Commis-
sioners in the year nineteen hundred and nine, less allowances
for insolvents and removals. And on the second Tuesday of
December, in the year nineteen hundred and ten, the said W.
Hamilton Spedden, Treasurer of Dorchester County and Clerk,
shall account with the County Commissioners for, and pay to
the same or their order, the county taxes, levied by the County
Commissioners, in the year nineteen hundred and eight, less
allowances for insolvents and removals and on the second
Tuesday of July, 1911, the said W. Hamilton Spedden, Treas-
urer of Dorchester County and Clerk, shall account with the
County Commissioners for, and pay to the same all the county
taxes levied by the County Commissioners in the year nineteen
hundred and nine, less allowance for insolvents and removals.
If a Guaranty or Bonding Company on one or both of W.
Hamilton Spedden's bonds, as Treasurer of Dorchester Coun-
ty and Clerk, the County Commissioners shall levy a sufficient
sum to pay, and they shall pay the expenses of the bonds.
108. At the general election in November, in the year nine-
teen hundred and thirteen, and at the general election in each
fourth year thereafter, a Treasurer of Dorchester County and
a Clerk of the County Commissioners thereof shall be elected
who shall bear as aforesaid the title "The Treasurer of Dor-
chester County and Clerk. He and his successors in office
shall have all the rights, powers, duties and obligations be-
longing to said office as prescribed under and by the law. His
term of office shall begin on the first day of January following
his election, and shall continue four years and until his suc-
cessor shall be appointed or elected, and has qualified. And if
a vacancy at any time occur in said office from death, resigna-
tion, removal from the county, removal from office, or from
any other cause or causes whatever, the County Commission-
ers of said county, as speedily as practicable, shall fill the
vacancy for the unexpired portion of the pending official term,
and the person appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office
until his successor is appointed or elected and has qualified.
For his services as treasurer of Dorchester County and clerk
the said official shall receive a yearly salary of sixteen hundred
dollars, which shall be paid in equal monthly installments, and
