Caroline and Dorchester counties such sums of money as may
be necessary to carry out and secure the provisions of this
Act, the expense thereof to be paid and borne, one-half by
Caroline county and the remaining one-half by Dorchester
county, to be levied at their regular annual levy.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the cost of maintaining the
said bridge and keeping it in safe repair and condition for
public travel shall be paid in the same ratio as in the preced-
ing section: One-half by Caroline county and one-half by Dor-
chester county, and the County Commissioners of the aforesaid
counties are hereby directed and empowered t6 levy upon the
assessable property of their respective counties such sum of
money as may be necessary, from time to time, to defray the
cost of maintenance and repair in the proportion aforesaid.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That upon completion of said
bridge that then, by order of the County Commissioners of the
said two counties, the said bridge shall be open to public
travel.
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 341.
AN ACT to amend the charter of Westminster by repealing
Section 214 to Section 254, inclusive, of Article 7 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "Carroll County," sub-title
"Westminster," and all amendments and additions thereto,
except as hereinafter preserved and retained, and to re-enact
the same with amendments, in 27 sections.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 214 to 254, inclusive, of Article 7 of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Carroll County," sub-title
"Westminster," and all amendments and additions thereto, ex-
cept as hereinafter retained and preserved, be and the same
are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to be
numbered Sections 214 to 241, inclusive, so as to read as fol-
lows :
