646 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Jail. The Board of Police Commissioners for the City of Bal-
timore shall designate two or more members of the police force
to attend said justice and execute his powers and directions.
The Governor shall also appoint, by and with the advice and
consent of the Senate, and if the Senate shall not be in session,
by the Governor, from the City of Baltimore at large, an addi-
tional Justice of the Peace who shall be a member of the bar of
the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, or the Governor may
select from among the present Justices of the Peace of Balti-
more City, who shall likewise be a member of the bar of said Su-
preme Bench, who shall receive from the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Baltimore City a salary of one thousand dollars per an-
num, payable monthly, and whose jurisdiction and powers shall
be the same as those conferred upon the Magistrate for Juvenile
Causes and who shall be designated by the Governor to sit in
said court in the absence by illness or otherwise and at other
times upon the request of and in the place of the said Magis-
trate for Juvenile Causes.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect on
the first Monday in May, in the year 1910.

CHAPTER 471.

AN ACT to repeal Secton 2 of Chapter 129 of the Acts of 1906,
entitled An Act to repeal Sections 742, 743, 745 and 746 of
Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, en-
titled "City of Baltimore," subtitle "Police Commis-
sioners," as amended and re-enacted by Chapter 123 of the
Acts of 1898, and to re-enact said sections with amend-
ments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary
land, That Section 2 of Chapter 129 of the Acts of 1906, enti-
tled An Act to repeal Sections 742, 743, 745 and 746 of Article
4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled
"City of Baltimore," subtitle "Police Commissioners," as
amended and re-enacted by Chapter 123 of the Acts of 1898,
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments so as to read as follows:

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws now in
force relating to the Board of Police Commissioners of the
City of Baltimore, not included in this Act and not incon-
sistent herewith, shall be and they are continued in force and
effect until changed or repealed by the General Assembly of
