517c. The Mayor and City Council of Baltimore are further
authorized and empowered to appropriate for the furtherance
and support of the prison reform and relief work of the Pris-
oners' Aid Association of Maryland such sum or sums of money
not exceeding the sum of five thousand dollars per annum, as in
their judgment shall from time to time be required for those
purposes."
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 157.
AN ACT to add a new section to be known as Section 732A
to Article 4 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled
"City of Baltimore," subtitle "Mortgages," to follow Section
732, authorizing affidavits, affirmation and acknowledgments
in mortgage foreclosure proceedings to be made before a
notary public.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section to be known as Section 732A, be and
the same is hereby added to Article 4 of the Public Local Laws
of Maryland, entitled "City of Baltimore," subtitle "Mort-
gages," to follow Section 732, and to read as follows:
732A. Any affidavit, affirmation or acknowledgment men-
tioned in the preceding sections of this Article relating to mort-
gages, or incidental to any proceedings thereunder, may be
made before a notary public.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 56.
AN ACT to repeal Section 458, Section 459 and Section 460 of
Article 4, title "City of Baltimore," of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, relating to Gas Companies.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 458, Section 459 and Section 460 of Article
4, title "City of Baltimore," of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, be and the same are hereby repealed.
