CITY OF BALTIMORE. 618

SEC. 10. And be it further enacted, That any and all moneys
collected for benefits pursuant to the exercise of any of the
powers hereby granted shall be placed to the credit of the
special fund herein provided for, and may be appropriated and
expended for the purpose of this Act.

SEC. 11. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from date of passage, and that all Acts or parts of Acts
inconsistent with this Act be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 718,

AN ACT to release the Minister and Trustees of the Starr
Methodist Protestant Church from the payment to the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore of any assessment for benefits
in connection with the widening and extending of Pratt
street, from Light street to West Palls avenue, upon its
wharf property on the east side of Light street.

Whereas, The Burnt District Commission, acting under
Chapter 87 of the Acts of 1904 of the General Assembly of
Maryland, and Ordinance No. 66 of 1904 of Baltimore City, in
connection with the widening and entending of Pratt street,
from Light street to West Falls avenue, in Baltimore City,
made an award to the amount of $775 for benefits against and
upon the wharf property belonging to the Minister and Trustees
of the Starr Methodist Protestant Church, as shown upon the
map accompanying the return of said commission, and known
as Lot 314 on Benefit Plat No. 26, for the widening of Pratt
street; and

Whereas, The said commission assessed for benefits the
wharf property adjoining Lot No. 314, which assessments have
been entirely released by an order of the Baltimore City Court;
said order being affirmed by the Court of Appeals of Mary-
land ; and

Whereas, The said wharf property belonging to the Minister
and Trustees of the Starr Methodist Protestant Church is the
only wharf property on Light street which is assessed for
benefits for the said widening of Pratt street; the wharf prop-
erty to the north and south thereof being entirely released from
all assessments of benefits for said widening of Pratt street;
and

Whereas, It is only fair and just to the owner of said Lot
No. 314 that said assessment of |775 be released, inasmuch
