successive weeks in some newspaper of the county in which the
road or roads affected may lie. Any person knowingly viola-
ting any such order or regulation shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not
less than one nor more than one hundred dollars, or imprisoned
for not less than ten days nor more than three months, or both
fined and imprisoned, in the discretion of the Court.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 217.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 26, 27, 28, 29, 31 and 32 of Article
91 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title
"Surveyor and State Survey," subtitle "Public Roads," and
to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Sections 33, 34, 35,
36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50 of said
Article, title and subtitle, providing for the transfer of the
powers and duties, together with the records, accounts, con-
tracts, obligations, unexpended balances, and all property
appertaining to the same, from the State Geological and
Economic Survey to the State Roads Commission, for certain
proceedings in courts, and for the payment by the State and
county of one-half each of the cost of roads as the work
progresses.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32 of Article 91
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Surveyor and State
Survey," subtitle, "Public Roads," be and the same are hereby
repealed, and provided that the repeal of said Section 32 shall
take effect at the end of the present fiscal year.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Sections 33, 34, 35, 36, 37,
38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50 of Article 91
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Sur-
veyor and State Survey," subtitle "Public Roads," be and the
same are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, as
follows:
SEC. 33. That all of the powers and duties specified and set
forth in Sections 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45,
46, 47, 48, 49 and 50 of this Article and subtitle as the same
are set forth in the Code of Public General Laws of 1904,
formerly conferred upon the Commission composed of the
Governor, the Comptroller, the President of Johns Hopkins
University, and the President of the Maryland Agricultural
College, known as the State Geological and Economic Survey,
