terest covenanted to be paid each year to the mortgagee or his
assignee by the mortgagor, to be collected by the proper au-
thorities as other taxes for county purposes in said several
above especially enumerated counties are collected; all of such
taxes collected in said several counties shall be applied exclu-
sively therein to county purposes, free, clear and discharged
from any claim of the State or its fiscal officers; and the tax
hereby levied shall in each year be due and payable in that one
of the above-named counties, in which the mortgage is recordedr
and if any mortgage is recorded in two or more of said above-
named counties, the tax hereby levied shall each year be paid
to the county wherein the greater portion of the property cov-
ered by the mortgage is located. This section and the five suc-
ceeding sections shall not apply to the remaining counties nor
to Baltimore City, as to which remaining counties and city the
mortgage tax levied bv the Act of 1896, Chapter 120. Sections
146A, 146B, 146c, 146D, 146E, 146F, and by the Act of 1898, Chap-
ter 313, supplemental thereto, is hereby repealed; provided,
that nothing in this Act shall apply to taxes already levied.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 300.

AN ACT to provide for the general revaluation and re-assess-
ment of property for purposes of taxation in all the counties
of this State except Somerset and Worcester Counties.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That there shall be an entire re-valuation and re-assess-
ment, for the purposes of taxation, of all property, real, per-
sonal and mixed, and subject to taxation under existing laws
of this State, in all the counties in the State of Maryland, ex-
cept Somerset and Worcester Counties, in the year nineteen
hundred and ten, and such an entire re-valuation and re-assess-
ment are hereby ordered and required to be made.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, To facilitate and expedite the
assessment of property in all the counties of this State, under
this Act, the several counties of this State are divided into the
following assessment districts: Allegany County shall be di-
vided into three assessment districts; the first district shall be
composed of the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Sixteenth, Twen-
ty-first, Twenty-second and Twenty-third Election Districts;
the second shall be composed of the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Thir-
teenth, Seventeenth, Twentieth, Twenty-fourth and Fourtenth
Election Districts; and the third shall be composed of the
