PRIVATE ACTS. 1443

terminate in one year; of the second class, in two years; of the
third class, in three years; of the fourth class, in four years,
from the date of a meeting of the corporation held on the sec-
ond day of February, nineteen hundred and ten. The corpora-
tors or trustees shall have the right to elect suitable persons to
membership in the corporation for a term of four years, unless
elected to fill a vacancy caused by the death, resignation or re-
moval of a member before the expiration of the term for which
such a member was elected, in which case such newly elected
member shall hold membership only for the balance of the full
term, to fill which he or she may have been elected, and all
members shall be eligible for re-election at the expiration of
their respective terms. The names of the trustees who are an-
nually elected, including those elected to fill vacancies, shall
be reported to the Board of Education of the Methodist Epis-
copal Church at the next meeting of said board subsequent to
the trustees' meeting for approval or disapproval, as the case
may be. All trustees shall hold office until their successors
have been duly chosen.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Goucher College
shall receive, hold and administer through its board of trustees
such gifts, grants, legacies and devises as may have been in-
tended for or heretobefore given to the Woman's College of
Baltimore, or may be hereafter so given, granted, bequeathed
or devised, and by th'e name "Goucher College" the said corpora-
tion shall be capable of receiving, holding, granting, mortgag-
ing, leasing, conveying and aliening its property, both real and
personal.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said Goucher College
shall continue the work done by the corporation, or corpora-
tors, or trustees, whose successors they are, in accordance with
the charter whereof this Act is an amendment, and as therein
stated, to be the creating and maintaining a college for the
higher education of women, and shall have the continuing
power to admit students of the college to such degree or degrees
as the college may see fit to award, under conditions and
requirements to be fixed by the college and its by-laws.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted. That the said Goucher College
shall .have the power to hold and use funds for the purpose of
founding, establishing and maintaining scholarships, profes-
sorships, lectureships and chairs of instruction, and shall have,
hold and acquire by gift, grant, purchase, devise or any other
mode, land and property, both real and personal, for the pur-
pose of investing the funds of said corporation and carrying
forward its educational work and plans.
