1388 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That Section 4, Chapter
536, of the Acts of 1900, be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted so as to read as follows:

Section 4. And be it further enacted, That the said corpora-
tion shall have the authority and right to exercise any of the
powers possessed by it in the State of Maryland and in any of
the States, Territories or possessions of the United States, and
in any foreign country or countries.

CHAPTER 654.

AN ACT to repeal Section 3 of Chapter 162 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1858, entitled, "A further supplement
to an Act entitled 'An Act to incorporate the Frederick Town
Savings Institution,' passed at December Session, eighteen
hundred and twenty-seven, March seventh, eighteen hundred
and twenty-eight, Chapter one hundred and forty-two," and"
re-enact the same with amendments so as to read as follows r
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 3 of Chapter 162 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, of the Session of 1858, entitled "A fur-
ther supplement to an Act entitled 'An Act to incorporate the
Frederick Town Savings Institution,' passed at December Ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and twenty-seven, March seventh, eigh-
teen hundred and twenty-eight, Chapter one hundred and forty-
two," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, so as to read as follows:

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the board of directors may
if they think it expedient reduce the weekly deposits to the sum-
of one hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars, and that the
excess of weekly deposits over this sum should be paid to the
holders of the certificates of weekly deposits in proportion to
the amounts severally held by him, her or them; provided, how-
ever, that said company shall be subject to the provisions of
Article 11 of the Public General Laws of this State, title
"Banks," and any amendments thereof, and the liability of the
stockholders thereof shall at all times be determined by the
laws of the State in force at the time the said liabilities may
attach; and further provided, that said company shall not be
subject to Article 3, Section 25 of said Article 11.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted,, That this Act shall take effect from the
date of its passage.
