PRIVATE ACTS. 1285

Assembly of Maryland passed at the Session of 1908, be re-
pealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

SEC. 2. That said corporation shall hereafter be known as
the Maryland Society to Protect Children from Cruelty and
Immorality, and by that name shall have perpetual succession.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 7, 1910.

CHAPTER 127.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the German-American Mutual
Permanent Building Association of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the charter or certificate of incorporation of the
German-American Mutual Permanent Building Association of
Baltimore City, a body corporate, duly incorporated under the
General Laws of the State of Maryland, with its certificate of
incorporation recorded in the clerk's office of the Superior
Court of Baltimore City in Liber Charters R. O. No. 34, folio
71, be and the same is hereby amended by adding to it the two
following sections, the same to be known as Section A and Sec-
tion B, which shall be in addition to and in nowise a restriction
of the rights, powers and privileges now possessed by said as-
sociation.

SEC. A. That said corporation shall have perpetual succes-
sion and shall have not less than seven nor more than fifteen
directors, who shall make its by-laws and manage its affairs.

SEC. B. That said association may, for value, accept from its
members, assignments of mortgages on fee-simple and lease-
hold estaes in land and release and assign its mortgages and
execute, acknowledge and deliver any and all conveyances and
instruments of writing.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.

Approved April 11, 1910.

CHAPTER 120.

AN ACT to amend the charter or articles of incorporation of
the French Benevolent Society of Baltimore, a corporation
incorporated under the provisions of Article 26 of the Code
of Public General Laws of Maryland, 1860, to provide for the
election of members by the board of directors.
